Frequently Asked Questions

Q. May I import your models/textures from Morrowind into Oblivion?

A. Not without asking me first. Since I mod for Oblivion, it may be something I plan on doing myself.

Q. May I use your mods in other projects?

A. First, refer to the readme. I would prefer it older Morrowind mods were not used without first asking however. Some of those models and textures are rather out of date and need fixing, something I cannot do at the moment. My HGEC clothing mods use parts by other artists and if the readme states you will need to ask permission to use them. No questions asked. I've already dealt with one person who ignored the readme, I assure you I take prompt action.

Q. Will you ever come back to Morrowind Modding?

A. I hate to say no, but at the moment...no. I no longer have the game, and I left for multiple reasons. One of which being I was entirely burnt out on Morrowind.

Q. Do I need to notify you if I use your mods in other projects?

A. It's nice, but it is not required if the readme says usage is OK. I do like to know from time to time when something's being used, as I still giggle like a school girl over it! Make sure to check the readme first, if it's noted that I would like to give permission or not to use, then please act accordingly!

Q. Do you take requests?

A. If it's something that can be easily done in a short amount of time, I might consider doing it. If you're interested in learning how to fufill the request yourself, you're invited to email me and I'll direct you to links, or any help I can give you. Happy Modding!

Q. Do you take requests to modify your homes?

A. No I'm sorry, I have had to set a strict policy of not modifing any released housing projects for individuals. The reasons being that in the past I did for a few people, and now more and more people want personal requests for various homes. It's very time consuming, and it's not fair to say yes to one person and no to another. One thing I have learned in all my years of modding? Mod for yourself first or it gets old really quick.

Q. May I upload your mods to another site?

A. Not without permission and links! If I find them and you haven't asked, I will be extremely sore with you. However, by doing so after permission you agree to also take responsibilty for also uploading any updates that that mod might need. I reserve the right to spontaneously update my mods at any time.

Q. Can I translate your mods to another language?

A. Yes you can. I do ask that you contact me before hand, as just recently I had 6 requests from 6 different people to translate one mod into German, and it just wouldn't have been fair to the other 5 after the first was released! I also ask that you inform me when you are finished, as I get multi-lingual requests frequently and it's convienant to have links for people. By translating my mods and uploading them, you are taking responsibility to not only upload and manage any possible updates, but to also translate any possible updates.

Q. I can't extract any of your mods! What programs do I need?

A. I tend to use programs that offer higher compression rates to ease downloading time. Many of my mods are in 7zip format and rar format. To extract mods in these formats I recommend:

http://www.7-zip.org

http://www.rarlab.com

Q. Do most of your mods require the Expansions? If so, can I get a version that doesn't require Tribunal, Bloodmoon, of Shivering Isles?

A. Most of my Morrowind mods do require one or both of the expansions, the information is usually listed in the readme. Versions without the expansions are most likely impossible, as items from the expansions or neccesary script functions have most likely been intergrated into the mod. Most of my Oblivion mods DO NOT require SI, but will be noted if they do.

Q. I keep getting missing mesh errors, missing sound errors, white sections that should be tetxures, or these horrible yellow boxes with exclamation points? I have messages in my warnings txt. as well. What caused these, and what can I do?

A. This is caused by items not being installed right. To fix, try reinstalling the mod. Or if you need more assistance on installing mods, please read the tutorial on this site. It does somewhat apply to Oblivion. Most of my mods past beta stage have been extensively tested to not have missing items. Please do not contact me unless you have extensively tried to properly install all items yourself. I love to help you, but I do get alot of emails with similar content!

Q. My computer won't run your mods! It's like a slideshow! What can I do? Is there something wrong with the mod?

A. I enjoy making highly detailed cells, and my computer can handle it. However, lots of lighting and items can cause FPS (Frames Per Second) issues on certain systems and game setups. I apologize if you cannot run the mod. Something isn't "wrong" with the mod. You can attempt to fix cells heavy in FPS by removing items via the console, or the Construction Set. I do ask that if you remove items that you don't release the mod. I mod for myself, and my computer is a beast.

I should also note that nothing makes me more frustrated than seeing comments like "Korana's mods kill my computer!" or "Don't download that, it's sooooo laggy." FPS is NOT mod dependant, as certain systems run it just fine. Everything can affect your FPS, from texture replacers down to hardware. Please have a bit of respect and don't slander my mods publically because your computer dosen't run them very well, it's just poor form!

Q. May I use your scripts in a mod of mine?

A. Yes, you may. Please rename all variables, globals, and script names to avoid conflict with one of my mods. And if I've credited someone else for the scripts, credit them too. Or I will find you...*evil glare*

Q. I'm looking for a mod you released, but it's not on your site links. Where might I find it?

A. After the "Great Korana Mod Loss" which occured due to some drama about 2 years ago, I've finally got everything re-uploaded. If it isn't on the nexus page (which is the most up to date) then I've chosen not to share it and will not share it.

Q. Would you make a larger breast version of some of your HGEC clothing?

A. No. No. No. The body I put the clothing on is the body I think looks best. You are welcome to make conversions and share them if you like (but please check the readmes!)

Q. Would you release versions of your full HGEC outfits which have the parts seperate?

A. Only if I intend them to be mixed and matched. :-)

Q. May I convert and release your Oblivion mods for Morrowind or Fallout 3?

A. Only with direct permission from me, and even then I may send you to any other authors involved (such as HGEC clothing mixes) to obtain permission for those parts as well.
